Capt. Patrick Smith

Capt. Patrick Smith fishes out of the intracoastal and nearshore areas of Palm Beach. A world-class snook fishery and hub for big snook.

When it comes to the diversity of fishing opportunities in Palm Beach Capt. Patrick is a jack of all trades, but here we’ll focus on his true love – saltwater fly fishing for snook and tarpon. The intracoastal waterways of Palm Beach are snook highways with docks and bridges that provide the structure they desire. Capt. Patrick does daytime and nighttime snook trips and also offers a combination trip that starts lates in the night and ends later in the morning.

At night you’ll be fishing docklights and bridge shadow lines. A favorite passtime of locals, sightfishing for snook and little tarpon that are feeding on tiny glass minnows and shrimp attracted to the underwater lights. When daylight comes and depending on the time of year, the bigger snook and tarpon can be busting up schools of glass minnows or mullet around docks and seawalls or out on the beach. Wherever they are at that time, Capt. Patrick is on them.
