Capt. Scott Hamilton

Scott Hamilton

Capt. Scott Hamilton runs the offshore fly fishing scene of Palm Beach, where bluewater and the great Gulf Stream ocean current come closest to land.

This is “full-contact fly fishing” as Capt. Scott so accurately and affectionately puts it. He’ll have you pitted up against some of the fastest and strongest fish that swim. Blackfin tuna, wahoo, sailfish, dolphin (mahi), king mackerel, cobia, spinner sharks and false albacore are the heavy hitters that’ll keep you up at night reconfiguring tackle, tying flies and thinking about what you could’ve done better. They still do for Capt. Scott and he’s been the biggest name in offshore fly fishing in Palm Beach for a very long time. Nobody works harder, has more knowledge, or loves it more.

With so many species from jacks to barracuda eager to take a fly, this is the most action-packed fishing. The ultimate is false albacore, watching them violently swirl and pick off the live pilchards used as chum is magnificent, get your fly in there only as many times as your arms can handle.
