Iconic tarpon dredging fly
Capt. LeMay’s Tarpon Snake fly is the OG tarpon dredging fly. Umpqua named it the Tarpon/Pike Snake for it’s effectiveness on pike as well, but the truth is many large predators will react positively to the snake fly including sharks, golden dorado, and cobia. The Snake fly offers a ton of enticing movement and flow. There is no unnecessary bulk or buoyancy so that the fly gets down to where it needs to. At around 6″ long, the fly provides a large profile for tarpon in deep and murky water to find rather easily.
