The new generation of rods have arrived.
The next generation TFO Axiom II-X’s are here and better then ever! The Axiom II-X was designed for the intermediate to advanced fly angler seeking to maximize accuracy at distance. With Incredible tracking and recovery this rod makes you feel confident at longer cast and in heavier winds. For people with faster-stronger stokes you will notice that there is no mushiness to this rod. Constructed with high modulus carbon fiber and an embedded double-helix of Kevlar within the blank, all finished in a satin sky blue to give this rod a awesome appearance and to “blend” with the sky to avoid spooking fish.
Question
Mike C –
What’s the difference between the two TFO Amioms? I’m thinking about a 7wt paired with a Lamson reel. Recommendation?

Both are powerful casting rods. The Axiom II is a little slower than the Axiom II – X. So the Axiom II loads easier, it’s a bit more forgiving, and it has better feel at short to mid range. The Axiom II is the better all around fishing rod, especially sight fishing where the short to mid range cast 30′-50′ is the most important. The Axiom II – X is faster. It is a better tool for generating the line speed for long casts and is more accurate long range 70+ ft. So if you’re doing a lot of sight fishing on the flats or looking for a good all-around rod, go Axiom II. If you’re looking for a rod to make long casts, from the shore, or hitting shorelines, go Axiom II – X. I assume since you’re looking for a 7wt you’re looking for that good all-around rod. Any Lamson reel will do well, the Speedster is my personal favorite for either rod. Hope that helps, email me to go further in depth. [email protected]
