Here’s what the Orvis Mirage LT and its big brother the Mirage USA have in common. They both have a sealed and maintenance-free carbon and stainless steel disc drag system that adjusts from zero to full drag in a single drag knob rotation. They’re both made in New Hampshire by the same skilled American craftsmen. They both wield a large arbor and the increased retrieval rate that it brings. They’re machined from the same strong, yet lightweight, 6061 T6 aluminum barstock.

Here’s how the Orvis Mirage LT is different. It is 30% narrower and 30% lighter. Designed to balance lighter rods. The lighter drag system (like its heavier counterpart) has zero start-up inertia and precise low-end control that eliminates line shock and protects light tippets while maintaining the power to wear out brutish fish.
