Weight and sheen
Dumbbell Eyes Painted Solid are lead eyes hand painted a solid color to add weight to your flies. The painting adds sheen to the eyes as opposed to the dullness of plain lead. The dumbbell shape allows you to tie on the hook with cross-thread wraps. We like to put to tiny thread bumps on both sides of the eye to help keep them in place as you wrap them on.
