COVID-19 Operations Updates

Shop Temporarily Closed

This is a difficult call as we see other businesses in the area opening their doors and would love to have you back into the shop. But as we continue to monitor the data provided by the CDC and Florida Department of Health, we have decided to continue the walk-in closure until mid March. At which point we will once again reevaluate.

Our three primary concerns are the health of our customers, the health of our staff, and the service we provide as your fly shop.

In regards to the health of our customers and our team – while we recognize that the the increase in confirmed cases can coincide with increases in testing – the recent uptick is still enough cause for short-term concern and we feel it is in the best interest of everyone’s health for us to continue operating with Curbside and Shipping only, until the end of the month.

For local customers our focus remains on continuing to provide the best Curbside Pickup experience possible.

Thankfully we are almost back to full staff. Curbside Pickup orders made during normal business hours have generally been ready for pickup within an hour. You’ll get an email saying the package has shipped when it is ready for pickup. For reels that need spooling, just drop them off in the bin by the front door with a note of what you need and a phone number to reach you at. For the questions and discussions you would’ve had in the shop, give us a call. We’re here and happy to chat. The restrictions that we see with Curbside Pickup are the inability to pay in cash, to try on clothes, and to test cast rods. We are working on solutions.

Curbside Pickup Option Available

Orders placed online and over the phone can use the “Touchless Curbside Pickup” option to have the package placed outside the front door of the shop for you to pick up.

We will not be able to open the doors with curbside pickup. So please contact us in advance if you have questions or need to speak with us prior to picking up your order.

Curbside dropoff is also available for reels that need to be spooled with line or backing. Please contact us prior to dropping off your reels.

When to Pick Up Your Curbside Order

When your curbside order is ready for pickup you will receive an email that says “Your Ole Florida Fly Shop order #_ has shipped”.

Online Shop will Continue to Operate as Normal

Online operations will continue as normal during the physical shop’s closure. Your orders will continue to ship out same or next day depending on time of day they are received.

Shipping rule of thumb for local customers who would have otherwise came into the shop for your supplies: Orders delivered to Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade County generally arrive in 1-3 days with free shipping.

Customers around the United States can continue to expect your orders to be delivered in 3-7 days with free shipping.

Phone and Live Chat Operations Return to Normal

Phone and Live Chat supports will continue to operate as normal.

Call us Monday – Saturday: 10AM – 6:00PM EST, Sunday: 12:00PM – 4:00PM EST.

Chat with us online Tuesday – Friday: 10AM – 6PM EST.

Emails, contact form inquiries, and offline live chat messages will be attended to in a timely manner as normal.

Again our customers’ and our staff’s health are our primary concerns. We encourage you to use this time to also take preventative measures in taking care of your own health and your family’s. Luckily for all of us in this case – preventative measures can include tying more flies and getting more fishing in.
