Enrico Puglisi

His father and uncle being local Sicilian fishermen, Enrico Puglisi was born into a life of fishing. Before he could even walk Puglisi’s mind was as filled with fish as the Mediterranean Ocean that surrounded his hometown. Always the innovator, Enrico discovered that large chicken feathers tied onto a snelled hook attracted the bigger fish, thus fueling a lifelong determination to understand why fish will eat artificial “flies”.

Fast forward to current day United States and Enrico Puglisi is continuing to make a huge impact on the sport of saltwater fly fishing. Puglisi’s innovations in synthetic and natural materials have given anglers and fly tyers the ability to make flies that are able to hold their own after being chewed and chewed again by both powerful and sharp toothed saltwater dwelling predators.
