Staple Andros Bonefish Box
The Andros Bonefish Box is a great foundation for the flats of South Andros, Bahamas. It contains the crab and shrimp patterns for various water depths that every guide in Andros will want you to have with you. Three sizes are available for different times spent in the Bahamas.

The small is a great weekend box for a day or two of fishing. This box gives you the choice of the right-sized pattern you want, including backups if that’s the fly they want. You can squeeze the 3rd day in there if you don’t lose some to Barracuda’s

The Large is doubled up with even an even more fine-tuned option for when the bonefish get picky. Perfect for an extended weekend or a 5-day trip.

The XL gives you all the options, especially the larger West Andros big bonefish. Great for a week trip to secure success anywhere in the Bahamas. More permit patterns are included in this box as well that cross-over to bonefish flies extremely well. Also, most of these patterns will work extremely well fishing other areas such as the Keys and Belize.

  1. Question

    Rick Caton

Going to Spanish Wells ,Eleuthera from mid March to mid April and was looking for info on what flies you guys think would be best. Have been several times and was not really rigged and didn’t do very well. Also was wondering about the tippet deal…the ones that have the loop to go on the fly line and are tapered with no knots. Hi Rick,
The Andros Bonefish Box is a great box for almost anywhere in the Bahamas and most of the Caribbean. The standard Bahamas bonefish leader that most people use and have incredible success with is a 9-foot leader in 16lb class. Attached to the Class of the leader – a 2-foot section of 12-16Lb fluorocarbon.

  2. Question

    RICK Maurer

I assume these would work in Belize also? I like the large assortment of 41 flies, any discounts if we purchase two large? Thanks, they look very good.

All of that was taken into account when making this box. All of these flies are relatively sparse and easy to cast into wind, also easy to drop softly when wind is minimal. The variety of eye weights from beadchain to small brass, to lead cover the water depths you’ll be fishing.
