The Swamp Rabbit was originally created as a backcountry tarpon fly at the time when anglers just started realizing that tarpon flies needed to be scaled down. The Swamp Rabbit has since been inhaled by tarpon from the backcountry of the Everglades down to the lower keys and everywhere in-between. A bit of Bucktail under the rabbit strip keeps the fly from fouling and the weed guard keeps the fly virtually snag free.
