Food pellet imitation
The Rainy’s Pellet Fly represents the food pellets that hatchery fish are fed. Fishing the Pellet Fly in an area where fish are fed pellets would be like shooting fish in a barrel. The idea behind the Pellet Fly is that hatchery fish released into the wild will remember the pellet much the same way the tarpon remembers the palolo worm. The fly sits on the water’s surface in the same manner a real pellet would. The bright red dot on top of the fly can be used as a strike indicator.

Way too dark in color and way overpriced. Powerbait is around the same price and works perfect.

Your pellet fly is too dark. The trout don’t like it. Can you tie it in a tan instead of brown?
