Engineered to fit the angler in real fishing situations
Temple Fork Outfitters’s advisory staff of legends oversaw the research and production of a true fly fishing instrument in the TFO Axiom II. Same as its predecessor, the A2 is an incredibly fast-action rod. It has the power to generate line speed quickly while punching large flies in the wind with accuracy. The difference is in the feel. The A2 has a lot more feel to it than the original Axiom. It can be slowed down and presented on a dime through efficient energy delivery. Easy loading and quick unloading with no wobble on the stop makes for smooth, efficient, and true fly deliveries. Whatever your casting style or particular fishing situation you’re in, the Axiom II will feel like it was custom made for you.
Furthermore, the A2 optimizes the angles after the eat. Keep the tip high and protect the tippet or get down and dirty so the fish can feel the power in the butt section. The A2 gets the job done.

Hi, looking for a saltwater fly rod to fish for Bull reds etc in Texas (kayak or surf) . Any recommendations ? Needs to pack in my case so a 4 piece travel size preferred. My Trout rods are typical 6-7 weight so was thinking a 9 or 10 weight. I also double hand salmon rod fish but looking for a short punchy salt water rod and reel option, thoughts/options from your store?

How is this rod in 8wt for South Andros bones for an intermediate angler in general but a novice in saltwater circumstances? Another rod recommendation if this is not the one?

Absolutely Lynn. The Axiom has the power in the butt section you’re looking for.

Mike, would the TF Axiom II be a fair rod to start off with for someone looking for a fly rod to take to the Texas Coast for jetty tarpon? And maybe some shark action? 🙂

Hi Stuart, so this Axiom II is definitely a punchy saltwater rod as you say. Depending on the size of the reds and salmon you get into I believe an 8 weight would suffice. If the fish are truly bull reds and/or if you’re throwing pretty heavy bugs or air resistant poppers, or sinking lines for the salmon – then I would recommend the 9 weight.
