Possibly New England’s greatest new export, the Orvis Mirage USA is conceived to be a technologically superior fish-stopping muscle reel. The sealed, maintenance-free carbon and stainless steel disc drag system dares the toughest fish to test its power and the quickest fish to test its smoothness. The innovative new ball and ramp drag mechanism follows a non-linear curve as the drag knob is turned to give smoother adjustments in the fish-fighting range. Drag goes from zero to full power in one full rotation of the aggressively knurled drag knob. The super large arbor increases retrieval rate and reduces line coil, every bonefish, tarpon and offshore angler will testify to how convenient that is. This Mirage is machined in the United States from strong, yet lightweight 6061 T6 aluminum barstock and incorporates a titanium shaft that adds strength without additional weight. It’s then hard coated with military-spec type III anodizing for durability. To top it all off, the low-profile counterweight won’t catch fingers or fly lines.

There are two options for the size VI Mirage USA. The standard and the D (deep). The standard is your large arbor, designed specifically quick line pick up and hard-core tarpon anglers. The D is designed with a deeper spool for the high backing capacity bluewater and offshore anglers need.
