Built for incredibly long casts
The RIO Tropical OutBound Short fly line is designed to make long, quick casts in the hottest tropical conditions. The OutBound Short is built with RIO’s XS technology for super slick performance, and is finished with a hard, tropical coating that ensures the line will not wilt in the heat. The powerful head design loads rods quickly and effortlessly, the aggressive front taper carries large flies long distances and and cleanly turns them over in the wind.

Question
Captain Bruce –
I’m looking for a fast sinking line of a 6 ips or greater to get my flies down into the water column while drifting for king mackerel, tuna, African pompano and other species off the reefs and wrecks off Palm Beach county Florida. What is the sink rate for this line?
Is there a line which sinks faster than 6 ips on the market for 8 – 14 wt outfits?

Orvis depth charge

Hi, Bill. We don’t we not like the depth charge as much as the Airflo striper. The depth charge is a cold water line that doesn’t handle the heat very well. Although the Airflo is a cold water line – it handles the tropical waters better than anything available on the market for a full sinking line.
