The Gamakatsu SL12S Short is a shorter-shank version of the tarpon/big-game saltwater favorite, the SL12S. With the same sticky point, wide-gap, and strength of the SL12S, the Short opens up opportunities. Opportunities to tie tarpon, flats and baitfish patterns that require short-shank hooks with big-game strength that aren’t too thick or heavy. The SL12S Short’s also make good stinger hooks on tube flies.
