As the first material that most tiers begin with – Craft Fur is a staple material in saltwater, warmwater and trout streamer fly tying. The downside to Craft Fur has always been its length and lack of body. It takes a lot of Craft Fur to build any kind of profile and unless it’s used as a thin tail, it often takes supplementation from another brush or dubbing to build a fly with body.
Fulling Mill’s new Salty Craft Fur solves both problems. At about 3.75″ long it you have some length to work with. Length is very similar to Hareline’s Extra Select Craft Fur, the difference is Salty Craft Fur’s course composition makes it easier to create fuller profiles and better tapers.
